Joseph Cozzo-age 68 of Kodak, aka “Senior Chief Joe” passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 peacefully. He was born in Sicily, Italy where he began his Naval career while studying at the art institute. He moved to the United States and volunteered as a firefighter. Joe impacted many through his 26 years served in the United States Navy and had a strong sense of patriotism. Survived by his wife Darleena Cozzo; mother Francesca Marchese, brothers Antonio, Maurizio, Enrico, Massimo, sisters Marcella, Flavia Debman, daughters Lidia, Angelique, Marcella, son Carlo, step-daughters Destiny, Sarah, step-son Adam, son in laws Josh, Jake, granddaughters Martina, Ella, Chaeli, grandsons Antonio, Gabriel, Dayton, Julian, Noah, Andrei, Chaz, special friend Steve Dreano as well as many nephews, nieces, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father Carmelo Cozzo, and sister Anna. The family would like to thank the staff at Parkwest Medical Center including the nurses Melinda and Matt for their ongoing support and compassion during his hospital stay. The family will have a honor guard ceremony at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded War Project.
