John Perry Leggett: July 1, 1943 – September 15, 2025

John Perry Leggett, born on July 1, 1943, in Brookhaven, Mississippi, passed away on September 15, 2025. A proud resident of Sevier County since 1984, John lived a full and spirited life marked by dedication, humor, and love for his family and community.

John was married for 61 years to the love of his life, Sandra F. Leggett. Together, they raised one daughter, Stacy (Casey Cruise), and were blessed with a cherished granddaughter, Arminda (Asa Bell). He was a beloved uncle to many, including his devoted nieces Leigh Ann Brister and Becky Lewis, along with many other nieces and nephews who brought joy to his life.

He is survived by his older brother, David Leggett.

John’s life was one of hard work and adventure. He was a dairy farmer and a U.S. postal worker, later transitioning into the hospitality industry where he worked as a convention manager at several notable hotels including the Park Vista, Edgewater, Grand Hotel, and Colliers. He also served in security roles at the Dixie Stampede and the Monte Carlo Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Known for his sharp wit and joyful spirit, John had a great sense of humor and an infectious love for life. He was an avid gun enthusiast and an exceptional marksman, as well as a lifelong car enthusiast.

He leaves behind a legacy of laughter, hard work, and deep love for his family and friends.
