David “Dave” McCarty passed away peacefully on July 26, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, businessman, and friend whose kindness, integrity, and dedication left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
Dave is survived by his beloved wife, Rebecca McCarty; his son, Grant McCarty(SeanDuong); his daughter, Mary Johnson; and his cherished grandchildren, Evie Johnson, JJ Johnson, and Oliver Johnson, who brought immeasurable joy to his life. He is also survived by his brother, Edward McCarty, and sister-in-law, Carla McCarty, along with many extended family members, dear friends, and colleagues who will deeply miss him.
Throughout his life, Dave was known for his unwavering commitment to serving others. As the owner and operator of a successful funeral business, he devoted his career to helping families through some of life’s most difficult moments with compassion, dignity, and professionalism. His genuine care for those he served earned him the respect and admiration of his community.
Dave was also a longtime and dedicated member of Rotary, where he faithfully lived out the organization’s motto of “Service Above Self.” Through his involvement, he worked to improve the lives of others and believed strongly in giving back to his community.
Above all else, Dave treasured his family. Whether spending time with his children and grandchildren, sharing stories and laughter, or quietly offering support and encouragement, he found his greatest happiness in the people he loved. His steady presence, generous spirit, and compassionate heart will be remembered always.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made in the form of school supplies for a local Sevier County school in your community. Dave believed in investing in future generations, and this meaningful gesture reflects his lifelong commitment to helping others.
Dave’s legacy of service, compassion, and love will continue to live on in the countless lives he touched. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered. At his request, the family will be having a private funeral service.
