Arthur J.R. Perry, III, known as “Reed”, 70, of Seymour, TN, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Friday, November 1, 2024. He worked for TVA, serving the people of the Valley for over 30 years and retired in 2011.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James R. Perry and Beverly Perry; and brother-in-law, Larry Bowman.
Reed is survived by his beloved wife and soulmate, Janice Perry; son, Ryan Perry and wife, Emily, of Mount Juliet, TN; grandchildren, Jack and Ella Perry; sisters, Sue Huber and husband, Glenn, of Elkhart, IN, and Kathy Creekmore and husband, Johnny, of Goshen, IN; sister-in-law, Linda Dunagan and husband, Michael, of Somerset, KY; and many loving nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family members and friends.
The family wishes to extend their deepest appreciation to the Tennessee Cancer Specialist Team for giving Reed excellent care and support during his challenging and courageous battle with cancer. In addition, they also wish to thank the Parkwest Medical Center for the care that he recently received.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Seymour Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 241 Seymour, TN 37865 or to a charity of your choice in Reed’s honor.
“For the believer there is hope beyond the grave because Jesus Christ has opened the door to Heaven for us by His death and resurrection.” All those who have made this important decision will see Reed again.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 PM Saturday, November 9th with the Celebration of Life to follow at 3 PM at Atchley’s Seymour Chapel with Pastor Brent Stafford officiating.
